FAQs

Here you will find a list of questions I often get asked by clients. If you need any further information please contact me!

How much does a website cost?

For many this is the most important question, but no website is the same and requirements for websites can hugely differ.  We build bespoke sites and our fee represents this.  A basic business site starts from £1000 but this will vary on individual clients needs when it comes to design and functionality. We believe your website is one of your main assets and is worth investing in.

How long does a website take to create?

We like to turn a website round within 60 days and endeavor to make our deadlines. Our design and development process is outlined below and as you will see it is a two way street.  Throughout the process there are various things that we will need from you.  For example we ask you to approve designs and provide content before we can build the site.  If these things aren’t delived then we will not be able to meet the deadlines set.  We all benefit from a website being finished in time and will do our best to help you throughout the project.

What is the process?

Below is a breakdown of our process, for a more detailed explanation of the Process please see our Web Design Process Page.

  • Website Worksheet
  • Initial meeting
  • Proposal sent
  • Sitemap created
  • Content delivered
  • Design sent
  • Designs approved
  • Site build
  • Site tested
  • Website put live
  • Video manual included with website
  • 30 days – any bug fixes or follow up questions
  • Care Plan put in place.

Will my website work on mobiles?

Of course! We ensure all our website are mobile responsive and work on all latest browsers*.

*We will not test old or abandoned browsers, for example Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 or earlier for Windows or Mac, previous versions of Apple’s Safari, Mozilla Firefox or Opera unless otherwise specified.

What is a CMS?

A CMS or ‘Content Management System’ allows users to make changes to the content without any technical knowledge. The beauty of this is that the website owner can make changes to pages and add blogs without having to go back to the web developer.

What aftercare will I receive?

Once your website is live you will have 30 days to come back to us with any problems.  This does not include changes to the site which have been previously agreed, however, any bugs will be rectified and any questions on how to update your site will be answered.

What is a care plan?

We highly recommend taking out  a care plan with us.  A care plan ensures that your site is kept up to date, backed up and can include changes that take 30 minutes or less to complete.  A care plan is a monthly plan which can be cancelled at any time.

What is domain and hosting and how does it work?

In really simple terms a domain is your site name and your hosting is where your files ‘live’.  We will recommend domain and hosting providers and can set this up for you, alternatively we can work with the host provider of your choice.
